Nord Stream AG says unable to examine pipeline damages
MOSCOW, Oct 5 (PRIME) -- Nord Stream AG, the operator of the Nord Stream natural gas pipeline, is unable to examine the damaged parts of the pipeline because of a lack of necessary permits, whose consideration may take more than 20 working days, the company said in a statement late on Tuesday.
According to Sweden, navigation, anchoring, diving operations, exploitation of controlled submersibles, and geophysical mapping were banned around the damaged pipelines in order to carry out an international investigation.
The Danish authorities told Nord Stream AG that consideration of the company’s request for a permit to inspect the pipelines may take more than 20 working days.
Also, the owner of the ship that Nord Stream AG booked to inspect the pipeline lacks a permit from the Norwegian Foreign Ministry to start sailing to the pipeline.
